Duathlon Event information

Race Information and Rules -
  • See "How TO Race" link for additional information and tips.
  • All competitors are required to have a current USA Triathlon license or purchase a one-day ($10) or annual ($39) USAT license in order to compete.
  • Only one-day Adult licenses may be purchased at packet pick-up.
  • All youth ages 17 and under are required to be annual USAT members to compete. The cost of an annual youth membership is only $5 per year.
  • On race day the duathlon transition area will open at 6:30am.
  • The first heat will start at 9:00am sharp!
  • Cutoff times per person,per event: Run - one hour; Bike - 1.5 hours; Run - one hour.
  • Teams can be made up of two or three people. One person can do two legs of the race.
  • All 2010 USAT rules are in effect.
  • Event will be held rain or shine.
  • Minimum age to compete as an individual is 12 years of age. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • 10 and 11 years olds may compete in a team with permission from race director.
  • ...The Cosmopolitan Hotel
    The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Fayetteville is offering a special rate of $79 per night. Please call the Cosmopolitan at (479) 442-5555 and mention the race to receive the special rate. The hotel is just off the downtown square and is only 5 miles from Drake Field.
    "Race-day Basics"
    Friday, April 02 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Fleet Feet of Fayetteville. USA Triathlon certified coach Ron Schmidt will discuss race-day preparation, nutrition, key do's and don'ts. Also on hand will be a USA Triathlon official to discuss race rules. Both will be available for questions.
    Transition/Staging Area Directions -
    Fayetteville Executive Airport, Drake Field, 4500 S School Ave, Fayetteville, AR 72701 is located only 5 miles from downtown Fayetteville on Hwy 71. The airport terminal is where packet / timing chip pickup is located. Event parking is located next to the Transition area. See Course Maps for more detail.
    Awards and categories -
    Awards will be presented to the top one to three finishers (based on number per category) in each male and female age category, as well as in each team category except Masters. The top-three overall male and female finishers will receive separate awards, plus gift certificates.
    Individual:
  • Juniors (Male & Female): 12-15, 16-19
  • Adults (Male & Female): 5-year age groups per USA Triathlon
  • Masters 40-49 (Male and Female): First-place only
  • Grand Masters 50+ (Male and Female): First-place only
  • Clydesdale (200lb. +): 39 and under; 40+
  • Athena (150 lb. +): all ages
  • Teams: (teams may consist of two or three individuals)
  • Men
  • Women
  • Mixed
  • 2010 Door Prizes, Pre & Post Race Goodies -
  • The first 200 registered athletes receive a TBA!!!
  • The fastest male and female individual participants will receive special prizes for the fastest run 1, bike and run 2 times.
  • Door prizes will include gift certificates, cash and tons of bike gear.
  • A twilight flight for two donated by Million Air - Fayetteville!
  • Hot food will be served to all athletes by A Fare To Remember following the race. Friends and family may eat for a nominal fee.
  • Racers, friends and family members will receive a discount coupon to tour the Ozark and Military Air Museums located next to the Drake airport terminal.
